University of Basrah Holds Scientific Workshop on Cryoprotection Technique
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basrah held a scientific workshop on cryoprotection technology.
The workshop, presented by lecturer Suha Abdul-Rahim Yasser, included a detailed theoretical explanation of the cryoprotection technique using epoxy and a hardener, and its importance in preserving biological specimens and objects. The workshop also included an explanation of its chemical advantages and physical properties.
The workshop also included a practical session in which the epoxy and hardener were mixed in front of the audience, giving participants the opportunity to apply the technique and understand the basic steps of this important technique in the field of embalming and specimen preservation.
This event is part of a series of scientific activities the museum organizes with the aim of spreading knowledge and developing technical and scientific skills.
