A PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines the Preparation and Characterization of Zintel Antimonite Compounds
A PhD thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrab was presented, titled "Preparation and Characterization of Zintel Antimonite Compounds (Eu1-xYbxZn2Sb2, YbCd2-xZnxSb2 & YbZn2-xMnxSb2) for Thermoelectric Applications."
The thesis, presented by student Ibrahim Majeed Jassim, aimed to prepare and characterize these compounds to improve their performance in thermoelectric applications. It included a study of the thermoelectric properties of three zintel antimonate compounds doped with various elements (Zn, Cd, and Mn), with the aim of improving their efficiency in thermal energy conversion.
The thesis included the laboratory preparation of these compounds using microwave solidification technology, which contributed to reducing the preparation time to only 10 minutes. In addition, the study includes an evaluation of the effect of different doping ratios on the thermoelectric properties of these compounds, enabling the identification of the best compositions for enhanced performance.
