University of Basrah Organizes a Workshop on Drugs
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a workshop entitled "Drug Use Disorder: Clinical Signs, Treatment, and Prevention Methods."
The workshop aimed to explain the dangers of drug use to society and how to treat addiction through treatment programs, medications, and social support.
The workshop included a lecture by lecturer Rania Odeh, in which she explained that drugs are chemicals that affect brain function and cause changes in emotions and behavior. Drugs can cause serious side effects and lead to addiction. Types of drugs include both prohibited and medicinal drugs, and their side effects include addiction, psychological and physical changes, health problems, and death.
