A Lecturer at the University of Basrah Publishes a Chapter in an International Medical Book
Dr. Maysaa Banai, a lecturer at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah, published a chapter titled "Evaluation of Metoprolol-Induced Liver Injury and the Role of Vitamin E in Rabbits" in the book "Pharmaceutical Research: Progress and Recent Trends, Volume 5," published by the international publishing house BP International in India. The book brings together specialists from around the world.
The chapter includes a wide variety of medications that cause liver toxicity as a side effect, ranging from elevated liver enzymes to liver failure. Metoprolol also has some of these toxic effects in clinical cases discovered in 1989.
