The thesis, presented by student Mukrim Jamal Abbas, aimed to study and analyze the reality of residential mobility in the city of Basra and highlight the spatial variation in the characteristics of mobile residents, their residences, and the reasons for their movement, reflecting realistic images that embody the city's historical dimension.
The dissertation addressed the morphological stages and historical development of the city's size and growth, its population concentration, distribution, and density, and their impact on the process of residential mobility. It also provided a spatial analysis of the characteristics of this mobility in the city of Basra, which included residential regions.
