University of Basrah Lecturers Publish Scientific Research in a Swiss Journal
Lecturers at the Polymer Research Center at the University of Basrah, Dr. Maher Asaad Jalal, Dr. Enas Abdul-Aziz Abboud, Dr. Zainab Jumaa Suwaih, and the two lecturers Alia Abdul-Hassan Abdul Karim and Haider Abdul-Ilah Abdul-Wahid, published a scientific research paper titled "Highly Branched Poly (Adipic Anhydride-Co-Mannitol Adipate: Synthesis, Characterization, and Thermal Properties)" in the journal Polymers, published by the international publishing house MDPI in Switzerland.
This international, open-access journal, which is indexed in Scopus Q1 and Clarvate, publishes research and studies related to polymer science, including chemistry, physics, polymer engineering, analysis and characterization, biopolymers, nanocomposites, and other scientific fields. It encourages scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible.
The research addressed improving the thermal properties of the ADPC polymer by altering its structural composition and making it highly branched through a condensation reaction involving the melting of ADPC polyanhydride and D-Mannitol. This research is part of the center's efforts to develop innovative and sustainable polymer materials suitable for use in medical and industrial applications.
