A PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Maritime Oil Transport and its Contemporary Trends
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Basrah researched a doctoral dissertation on contemporary trends in global maritime oil transport, with particular reference to Iraq, for the period 2004–2022.
The dissertation, submitted by student Hussein Haider Muhammad al-Jazairi, aims to analyze the maritime oil transport market and the development of the global tanker fleet, in addition to studying the reality of maritime oil transport in some Arab countries, Iraq in particular.
The dissertation concluded that Iraq is absent from the global crude oil transport market due to the lack of specialized tankers in this field by the Iraqi Oil Tanker Company.
