University of Basrah Marks Distinguished Presence at the First National Conference for Iraqi Scholarship Students
University of Basrah recorded an active presence at the First National Conference for Iraqi Scholarship Students, held at the University of Baghdad with the support of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and with the participation of Iraqi university presidents, officials, and a select group of scholarship students.
The conference featured dialogue sessions that discussed strategic visions for leveraging the expertise of Iraqi scholars returning from scholarships. They also reviewed the challenges facing scholarship students upon their return home and mechanisms for integrating them into academic and research institutions to enhance human development and meet the aspirations of the Iraqi state in various sectors.
In his speech at the conference, Dr. Haider Khazal, Assistant President of the University of Basra for Scientific Affairs, highlighted the importance of supporting the career paths of those returning from scholarships and activating their roles within research and teaching environments. He emphasized the university's commitment to embracing these talents and benefiting from the experiences they gained at international universities.
For her part, Dr. Enas Abdel Aziz, Director of the Expatriate Talent Unit, explained that the university, through this unit, seeks to create an institutional environment that nurtures returning expatriates and activate communication channels with the Ministry and other universities to ensure that competencies are invested in sustainable national projects.
