A master's thesis at the College of Science at the University of Basrah was titled "A Study of the Interaction of High-Energy Electrons with Light Ions Using the Bourne-Pethey Approximation."

The thesis, presented by student Hawra Saadoun Kadhim, aimed to study the impact of approximate methods and the accuracy of their results, and to understand the interactions of ions with charged particles and their impact on physical and chemical properties. This would contribute to the development of theoretical models and the accurate interpretation of scientific phenomena.

The thesis included the calculation of integral and differential cross sections, probability and transition time, line strength, and general oscillator strength.
