University of Basrah Holds Industrial Advisory Council Meeting
The College of Engineering at the University of Basrah held a meeting of the Industrial Advisory Council to develop the educational system and achieve integration between academics and labor market requirements.
The Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, stated that the attendees discussed the needs of the local and regional labor market and emphasized the need to align the department's curricula with the actual skills required by institutions and companies, ensuring the preparation of graduates capable of effectively engaging in various work environments.
He added that the meeting discussed reviewing and updating the curriculum content to enhance the practical and applied aspects of students' learning, with a focus on modern engineering skills and contemporary technologies, particularly in the fields of energy, communications, and automation.
