Dean of the College of Physical Education selected as a member of the Basra Marathon Higher Committee
The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Dr. Haider Aufi Ahmed, has been selected as a member of the Higher Organizing Committee of the first Basra International Marathon (21 km race), which will be held in Basra Governorate on Friday, April 25.
The Dean of the College, Dr. Haider Oufi, said that this selection comes in appreciation of the great efforts exerted by the university and the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in supporting sports in Basra Governorate and Iraq in general.
He added that the marathon will carry a message to the whole world that the city of Basra is a city of peace, peaceful coexistence and rejection of violence, and a tool to educate the community.
