University of Basra organizes a workshop on air pollution and public health challenges
The Faculty of Science at the University of Basra organized a scientific workshop entitled Air Pollution: Public Health Challenges and Sustainable Solutions.
The workshop aimed to sensitize participants to the interrelationship between air pollutants and global warming and its impact on public health and quality of life.
The workshop, which was lectured by Dr. Naif Mohsen Aziz, included an explanation of the most important sources of pollutants and the role of short-term climate pollutants in accelerating climate change.
The workshop recommended the need to integrate national pollution control strategies with climate change mitigation policies, activate environmental education, and stimulate cooperation between universities and government agencies in implementing environmental sustainability programs.
