University of Basra organizes a training workshop on chemical content in plants
The Faculty of Science at the University of Basra organized a training workshop on the estimation of chemical content in plants.
The workshop aimed to estimate some important compounds in the plant, as the workshop targeted graduate students to facilitate the completion of their research requirements by practical methods in the laboratory.
The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Muntaha Abdul Zahra, Dr. Halima Jabbar, Dr. Sajida Yassin and Dr. Ansam Mahdi, included several themes, including introducing the importance of chemical compounds of the plant and how to extract and estimate these compounds such as the amino acid proline by the soft method, total dissolved carbohydrates and the work method stands, in addition to extracting and estimating alkaloids from different plants.
The workshop recommended the need to provide workshops periodically to meet the needs of researchers and workers in related scientific fields.
