University of Basrah Organizes a Discussion Session on the Latest Developments in Diabetes Treatment
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a discussion session titled “Recent Developments in the Treatment of Type 1 Diabetes”.
The session aimed to shed light on the latest research in immune-based treatments designed to redirect or modify the immune response to prevent the destruction of beta cells in the pancreas.
The session included a lecture by Dr. Noor Kazem Mohammed, who explained that type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that leads to the complete destruction of the pancreatic beta cells, requiring patients to undergo insulin injections to stay alive.
