For sustainable development in biodiversity conservation. University of Basra faculty participates in the sixth conference of the Institute of Genetic Engineering
The University of Basra's Marine Science Center (Hala Fadel Hassan) participated in the sixth scientific and international conference on the investment of molecular technologies in achieving sustainable development, organized by the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Graduate Studies at the University of Baghdad.
The participation included the presentation of a paper entitled :
Global registration of environmental bacteria recorded in NCBI, ENA and
DDBJ of new Iraqi isolates
To support sustainable development plans in preserving biodiversity.
The research dealt with the isolation and characterization of types of bacteria isolated in different environmental areas of Basra Governorate by (28) new isolates, globally registered in the American, Japanese and European gene bank as new bacterial species and strains that play an important role in biodiversity.
