PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Investigates the Effect of Lactic Acid Bacteria Extract on Common Carp Fish
A PhD thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basrah, explored the impact of lactic acid bacteria extract on common carp fish experimentally infected with Aeromonas hydrophila.
The thesis, presented by PhD student Sabah Mahmoud Hamid, aimed to use cell-free liquid extract from lactic acid bacteria to combat infections caused by Aeromonas hydrophila in common carp fish. The research also assessed the effect of these extracts on reducing bacterial spread, as well as improving growth indicators and the overall health of the fish.
The thesis concluded that the natural components of the bacteria improved the health condition of the infected fish by reducing inflammation damage and naturally enhancing the fish’s immunity.
