University of Basra organizes a workshop on climate-smart practices for irrigation and soil management in the south
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a workshop titled "Climate Smart Practices for Irrigation and Soil Management in Southern Iraq under Climate Change Conditions".
The workshop, which was attended by Dr. Ali Hamdi Diab and Chief Engineer Murtada Rahim Abed, included a presentation on the most important modern agricultural methods to adapt to water scarcity and climate change, including the use of soil improvers, marsh soils, bumper farming, oil waste utilization, laser leveling techniques and electronic irrigation systems. The workshop highlighted the role of technology in improving irrigation efficiency and increasing agricultural production.
