University of Basra organizes an introductory seminar on the creation of the Human Rights Unit and its tasks
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized an introductory seminar on human rights and its tasks as part of the activities of the new unit.
The seminar aims to spread awareness of human rights concepts in the university environment, clarify the role of the unit in protecting and promoting rights within the academic institution, as well as promoting a culture of respect for rights and freedoms within the work environment and society.
The seminar, which was presented by Ahmed Shati Ghadban, Director of the Human Rights Division, and Dr. Sabrin Hazem, head of the unit at the College of Agriculture, in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal, and the Scientific Associate of the College of Agriculture, Dr. Sadiq Jabbar, included a detailed presentation on the tasks of the unit, which include monitoring violations, providing consultations, spreading the culture of awareness of human rights principles in coordination with the competent authorities and focusing on the role of the unit in promoting rights and freedoms within the academic institution.
