University of Basra organizes an awareness workshop entitled "No to Drugs"
The University of Basra's Qurna College of Education organized an educational workshop titled "No to Drugs", targeting graduate students
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students about the dangers of addiction and the devastating effects of narcotic substances on physical and psychological health.
The workshop, which was presented by Dr. Afaq Lazem Abdullatif, Dr. Hasna Amer Mahudis and Ali Badr, addressed the types of natural and synthetic drugs and their negative effects on humans of both sexes, especially on the brain and nervous system, in addition to reviewing the legal dimensions related to drug use and the resulting penalties.
The workshop concluded with a number of recommendations, most notably calling on teaching staff to promote awareness within the university environment, in addition to the importance of using awareness-raising tools such as signboards and intensifying monitoring within the campus to curb this dangerous phenomenon.
