University of Basra students win third place in the karate championship

University of Basra students won the third place in the Iraqi Karate Championship.

Mr. Abdullah Tahsin Hashim, Director of Citizens Affairs at the Basra University Presidency and coach of the Karate Club, said that the university students competed with more than fifty teams from different Iraqi provinces in the category of advanced under 21 years old.

He added that the students won six medals of gold, silver and bronze in the tournament organized by the Central Iraqi Karate Federation in the holy city of Karbala.
