University of Basrah Organizes Seminar on Illegal Immigration
The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar on illegal immigration.
The seminar aimed to highlight the negative effects, causes, and problems facing illegal immigrants. Their migration is directed toward developed countries, and they are therefore considered illegal aliens, with laws punitive against them.
The seminar, which featured lectures by Lieutenant Colonel Muntadhar Kazim Ni'mah from the Basra Community Police, Attorney Adnan Al-Alaq from the Ashar Court, Ms. Adhraa Jabbar Sattar, an educational counselor at the Basra Education Directorate, and Dr. Abdul-Karim Zayer Al-Muzani, head of the Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Education for Humanities, included an explanation of irregular or clandestine migration, which is the departure from one country to another in violation of the laws in force in the destination country. This involves entering the country without an entry visa, and asylum seekers may face deportation if the country of origin refuses to accept them.
