For sustainable development in upbringing and childhood. University of Basra organizes a seminar on how to deal with people with special needs
The General Secretariat of the Central Library at the University of Basra organized a seminar on how to meet the needs of children with disabilities in libraries and how to deal with them in support of sustainable development plans and the Convention on the Rights of the Child signed by UN member states in 1989.
The seminar, presented by Dr. Rafif Abdul Hafiz Al-Riyahi, dealt with training library workers on how to enable children with disabilities to access knowledge sources, devices and services for the blind, how to enhance their independence and self-confidence to facilitate their reintegration into human gatherings, and making the library environment an inclusive developmental environment that seeks equality between different segments of society.
