University of Basra lecturer wins first place for eloquent poetry
Hussein Imad Sadiq Al-Abdullah, a lecturer at the University of Basra's Faculty of Arts, won first place on the occasion of Iraqi Literature Day for his manuscript (The Book of Musamarat and Memoirs). It is one of the most prominent international poetry competitions specialized in eloquent poetry at the level of Arabs and Iraqis.
His poem was characterized by the depth of its idea, which dealt with values that combine high literature, scientific and historical interest, and reflects the encyclopedic personality of its author and his distinctive views, and the beauty of its language that combines originality and contemporaneity.
The jury, consisting of an elite group of critics and academics specialized in Arabic literature, unanimously praised the quality and excellence of the text, stressing that the poem represents a qualitative addition to contemporary eloquent poetry and reflects an outstanding poetic talent.
