University of Basra master's thesis on E. coli and its transmission
A master's thesis at the University of Basra, College of Veterinary Medicine investigated the role of plasmids as gene carriers among Escherichia coli bacteria and their pathological impact.
The thesis, submitted by researcher Noor Firas Kazim, aimed to classify these bacteria according to their presence, types of plasmids, phenotypic and genetic characteristics.
The thesis included the possibility of using the identity of plasmid bacteria in detecting the pathogenicity and danger of the bacteria, as well as proposing a new method for detecting their transmissibility between humans and animals.
The thesis recommended that molecular techniques such as blend should be applied to study the possibility of transmitting pathogenic bacteria or their plasmids.
