PhD Thesis at the University of Basrah Examines Boundaries and Definitions in Morphological Corpora
A PhD thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basrah examined boundaries and definitions in morphological corpora: A study of the cognitive and linguistic structures until the end of the tenth century AH.
The dissertation, presented by student Iman Abd Jassim, aimed to uncover the cognitive and linguistic techniques that contributed to its formulation and crystallization, ensuring that the definition matches the defined. It also aimed to demonstrate the similarities between the approaches morphologists use to depict morphological concepts and those used by scholars of other disciplines.
The study concluded that boundaries and definitions have a clear presence in morphological corpora, both in their linguistic usage and in their applied terminological usage. However, they do not occur at a uniform pace or in a single version.
