University of Basra receives delegation from Basrah Gas Company
The College of Engineering received a delegation from Basrah Gas Company (BGC) to discuss ways of joint cooperation in developing the skills of engineers and employees working in the oil sector. Discussions centered on the possibility of supporting the college in conducting specialized training courses organized through OPITO, the global organization accredited to develop professional standards in the oil and gas sector.
During the meeting, representatives of the company reviewed the needs of the oil sector for training and qualification according to international standards, and the two parties discussed the possibility of providing the necessary infrastructure to hold the courses within the college, in addition to supporting the teaching staff to obtain OPITO accreditation certificates.
The College of Engineering expressed its readiness to cooperate with the company in developing training curricula and providing the necessary academic and technical cadres for the success of this initiative, which will contribute to raising the efficiency of Iraqi engineers and qualifying them to keep pace with modern developments in the oil industry.
At the conclusion of the visit, it was agreed to continue coordination between the two parties to develop executive mechanisms to ensure the success of this cooperation and achieve the desired goals.
