University of Basra's Dr. Amjad Zaki Khalil has published a book on the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0
Dr. Amjad Zaki Khalil, who teaches at the University of Basra's College of Engineering, has published a book titled Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 - Challenges, Opportunities and Practices, in collaboration with professors from international universities.
The book, published by the Global Sustainability Journal, addresses human-robot collaboration rather than simply integrating digital technology. Industry 5.0 integrates human intelligence with robotic capabilities to enhance efficiency and sustainability, while adopting technologies such as collaborative robots and human digital twins to optimize production processes.
He also discussed the digital transformation in the tourism sector and the need for updated educational curricula to support digital tourism, while the construction and architecture industry faces organizational challenges in adopting Building 4.0 technologies. The Technology-Organizational-Environment (TOE) framework helps identify the factors influencing decision-making to facilitate the transition.
