University of Basra doctoral dissertation examines planning indicators for development
A doctoral thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Education and Humanities examined the planning indicators of urban development in the city of Rumaitha.
The thesis, submitted by student Hamad Da'aboul Al-Khazali, aimed to determine the extent to which the planning criteria for urban development and its indicators match, as the city of Rumaitha is a living example of a gap between urban planning in the city and the methods of applying urban development, reflecting the needs of society and the requirements of development.
The study concluded the importance of structuring urban planning, focusing on development indicators, revealing the factors affecting development, the challenges it faces, and the opportunities available to provide a strategic vision that contributes to improving the urban planning process and raising the efficiency and quality of services in the city.
