The symposium also reviewed various types of stigma, including cultural, ethnic, psychological, and gender-based stigma, as well as stigma associated with physical disability and drug addiction.
The symposium addressed the effects of stigma and the extent of social interaction with it, as well as the mechanism for combating this phenomenon by raising the level of education and enacting laws.
