University of Basra investigates the effect of irrigation techniques and soil improvers on the growth of yellow corn
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's College of Agriculture investigated the effect of the distances between drip irrigation system dots and soil improvers on some soil characteristics and growth of yellow corn plants.
The study, presented by student Nidal Abdul Latif Daif, aimed to address the issue of water scarcity and improve the productivity of yellow corn by testing three spacings (20, 30 and 40 cm) and three types of improvers.
The thesis included results that showed an improvement in the physical and chemical characteristics of the soil and an increase in plant growth and productivity when reducing the distance between dots and using the optimizers.
