A master's thesis at the Faculty of Management and Economics at the University of Basra investigated the impact of the information system development cycle on organizational change readiness (IT infrastructure) as a modifying variable (an exploratory study at the General Company for Iraqi Ports)
The study, presented by student Ahmed Ashour Aboud Ibrahim, aims to measure the impact of the system development stages on the readiness of employees for change and the role of the technical infrastructure in supporting this.
The thesis included a theoretical and field study of five stages of development and analyzed the data of (366) employees by structural equation modeling.
The study concluded that the sequential application of the stages improves readiness for change and that a strong IT infrastructure enhances the relationship.
The study recommended adopting a disciplined development methodology, modernizing technical resources and intensifying staff training.
