University of Basra organizes a workshop on emotion and its impact on Iraqi criminal legislation
The Faculty of Law at the University of Basra organized a workshop on emotion and its impact on Iraqi criminal legislation.
The workshop aims to introduce the role of emotion in all areas of life, as that emotion is triggered or formed as a result of social, family, psychological and environmental factors that led the perpetrator to commit the crime.
The workshop included a lecture presented by Osel Omar Muslim, an instructor at the college, during which she explained that the reason for committing a crime or the motive for committing it is either an unlawful interest or passion, and since passion raises difficulties in proving the crime in the investigation or determining responsibility in terms of its connection to the motive for committing it or not, the latter is not considered except in certain situations specified by the law.
