University of Basra organizes workshop on autism
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Basra organized a workshop on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) awareness.
The workshop aimed to introduce autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and its diagnostic signs according to the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) as well as the increase in its prevalence rate in recent years.
The workshop included the presentation of several research papers during which the researchers showed how to conduct early screening using the revised version of the Autism Questionnaire for Children and its importance in early intervention programs for autism.
