Master's thesis at the University of Basra examines the protective effect of hibiscus plant in protecting the endocrine glands
A master's thesis at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Basra (studying the protective effect of the hibiscus plant to protect the endocrine glands against oxidative stress caused by chlorpyrifos in experimental rats).
The study presented by student Murtada Essam Sadiq aimed to demonstrate the effectiveness of antioxidants extracted from natural plants in supporting and supporting the body's antioxidant system against the oxidizing factors to which it is exposed as a result of daily life.
The thesis included the study of the induction of oxidative stress in adult male experimental rats by chlorpyrifos, and the ability of hibiscus extract to reduce the harmful effect on the endocrine glands as an antioxidant and compare this efficacy with vitamin C. The study concluded that there is an efficacy of hibiscus extract in supporting the body's antioxidant system against oxidative stress.
The study concluded that hibiscus extract is effective in minimizing the damage caused by antioxidants on important parts of the body such as blood, liver, thyroid and reproductive system.
