University of Basra collects samples to determine the causes of water pollution in Imam Sadiq's district and receives Basra MP Adnan Al-Jabri
Environmental scientists affiliated with the Marine Science Center collected samples of liquefaction water and sub-streams of the Euphrates River, the main feeder of Imam Al-Sadiq (AS) district, north of Basra.
The aim of collecting samples and analyzing them in the laboratory was to identify the causes of water pollution and the flourishing of microorganisms, and to measure pollution rates in light of the increased rates of evaporation and drought sweeping the Euphrates River due to the lack of water releases.
In a related context, the Director General of the Marine Science Center, Dr. Shaker Ghaleb Ajil, received at his headquarters the MP for Basra, Engineer Adnan Ashour Al-Jabri, to discuss the need to expedite the presentation of the initial results of the laboratory tests.
