University of Basra organizes a workshop on drugs
The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Basra organized a workshop on (Drugs: their societal and individual effects).
The workshop, which was held for postgraduate students, aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs, how addiction leads to damage to the physical, psychological and social health of the individual, its effects on society, the family and the individual, and how to deal with the addict or drug dealer.
The workshop included a lecture delivered by Dr. Nazira Faleh Nimah, in which she outlined several topics, including: The stages of addiction, the classification of drugs, the legal ruling of drugs, the causes of drug abuse, the health damages of drug abuse, the types of natural and herbal drugs, synthetic drugs, and artificial drugs.
