University of Basra organizes a lecture on protein electrophoresis
The University of Basra's Marine Science Center organized a scientific lecture on protein electrophoresis.
The lecture, delivered by Dr. Fadhil Naama Abdul Ridha, explained the technique of protein electrophoresis on polyacrylamide gel with SDS-PAGE, which is an essential tool in molecular biology and biochemistry to separate proteins based on their molecular size.
The lecture touched on estimating the molecular weight of proteins, assessing the purity of protein samples and analyzing the sub-structure of multi-subunit proteins.
