University of Basra organizes a seminar on the Spanish Inquisition
The Center for Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "The Impact of the Spanish Inquisition on Arab-Islamic Civilization".
The seminar, presented by Sara Ramzi Nehme, addressed the impact of the Inquisition that followed the fall of Andalusia on the civilizational and cultural structure of Arab Muslims, and the social and intellectual changes that affected the course of Islamic identity in the Iberian Peninsula.
The episode touched on the religious and political conflict, and the humanitarian and scientific repercussions that affected the Islamic community in Andalusia.
