For sustainable development in reducing water pollution. University of Basra organizes a workshop on water purification and treatment
The Polymer Research Center at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Basra Environment Directorate, organized a workshop on water purification and treatment methods.
The workshop aimed to support research and sustainability plans to eliminate pollutants in the Shatt al-Arab and protect the biodiversity of living organisms.
The workshop, which was attended by Dr. Abdullah Abbas Hussein and Dr. Zainab Juma Swaig, explained how to use polymers to rid water of heavy elements and dyes resulting from industrial, agricultural and human waste through the use of laboratory-prepared gels from natural polymers, and encourage sustainable agricultural practices.
