University of Basra doctoral dissertation examines assessment of commercial use response
A doctoral dissertation at the University of Basra's Faculty of Education and Humanities examined the response of commercial use to population growth in Qurna district.
The thesis, submitted by student Adnan Abdul Amir Makki, aimed to identify the reality of commercial use and its spatial expansion, development and urban growth in response to population growth since the city's inception.
The thesis concluded that there are multiple issues that have emerged significantly and have social, economic and spatial impacts, the most important of which is poor urban planning, which is evident in the varying level of efficiency and quality of commercial services, as well as the low level of these services.
