University of Basra's Master's thesis examines the directive image of the Habitus in ceramics
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Fine Arts examined the image of the Hapitos in postmodern ceramics.
The thesis, submitted by researcher Hanin Wissam Mohammed, aimed to identify the directorial image of the Habitus in postmodern ceramics.
The thesis included the topic of the Habitus, which is one of the most popular concepts after the Second World War as a psychological tool to understand and interpret the extent of the structure of the individual's interaction with customs and traditions.
The thesis concluded that the Habitus enables each potter to strike a delicate balance between the ceramic performance and the idea behind it, as the ceramic act becomes loaded with expressive connotations that go beyond the apparent form.
