University of Basra organizes a scientific workshop on the dangers of processed meat
The Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a scientific workshop entitled "Dangers you don't know about processed meat".
The workshop, presented by Sara Hashim Moussa, included the health risks associated with eating processed meat, which nutritional reports have pointed to its relationship with serious diseases such as obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
The workshop explained that the source of the risk is due to food additives such as nitrates, nitrites and sodium glutamate.
The workshop recommended avoiding these types of meat and focusing on fresh and white meat, while increasing the consumption of vitamins and antioxidants to minimize the damage.
