University of Basra organizes a cultural lecture on the history of Iraqi museums
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basra held a cultural lecture on the history of Iraqi museums.
The lecture aimed to highlight the stages of development of Iraqi museums and their cultural and scientific importance in documenting the country's history and protecting its civilizational heritage. It also focused on the challenges faced by museums across different time periods and their vital role in spreading societal awareness of the importance of preserving heritage.
The lecture, delivered by Hanaa Hussam Abdullatif, included a comprehensive presentation of the history of Iraqi museums and their vital role in documenting Mesopotamian civilization, in addition to discussing the challenges facing these institutions in light of current developments and ways to develop them to keep pace with global changes in museum management.
