Master's thesis at the University of Basra examines the effect of plant extracts on the growth of the Palm Maryam plant
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's College of Agriculture investigated the effect of spraying with plant extracts and the amino acid tryptophan on the growth of the Kaf Maryam plant, and aimed to determine the optimal concentration to obtain the best growth and production.
The study, presented by student Mousa Kazem Nama, indicated that the use of tryptophan at a concentration of 200 mg/L, fenugreek at a concentration of 100 g/L, and sage extract at a concentration of 50 g/L resulted in a significant improvement in the vegetative, root, chemical and volatile oil qualities of the plant.
The thesis recommended additional studies due to the plant's medicinal and industrial importance and its tolerance to difficult environmental conditions.
