University of Basra master's thesis examines medical image classification using deep learning in telemedicine
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's College of Engineering explores the classification and security of medical images using deep learning in telemedicine.
The thesis, submitted by student Heba Ahmed Hussein, aims to classify and analyze medical images, which is essential for diagnosing complex neurological diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and brain tumors, especially with the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques and their increasing role in supporting doctors' decisions.
The thesis included four chapters in which the student discussed intelligent classification systems known as computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) that face challenges related to classification accuracy, data balance, and confidentiality of health information exchanged between medical institutions in the telehealth and telemedicine sectors.
