University of Basra master's thesis examines the magnitude of erosion and runoff
A master's thesis at the University of Basra's Faculty of Education and Humanities researched estimating the magnitude of erosion and runoff in the Wadi Siban basin in southeastern Diyala Governorate.
The thesis, submitted by student Sabah Dia Lifta, aimed to determine the magnitude of erosion, both water and wind, and surface runoff in the Wadi Siban basin and the geographical factors affecting the natural basin.
The thesis concluded that erosion processes are prevalent in the study area, as water erosion is moderate according to the application of the Gavrilovic model (Epm) and wind erosion is very high according to the application of the chepl index.
