University of Basra organizes a workshop on criminal confrontation of extremist religious movements
The Faculty of Law at the University of Basra organized a workshop on Criminal Confrontation of Extremist Religious Movements "The Sacrificial Movement as a Model"
The lecture aims to introduce the extremist religious movements, including the sacrificial movement and its rituals, which are considered a clear violation of Islamic constants.
The workshop included a lecture presented by Nour Hassan Al-Tamimi, a teacher at the college, during which she explained the most important elements of the extremist "Qurbani" movement, including offering oneself as a sacrifice to Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), who is considered in the belief of this extremist group to be the unborn and unborn God.
She added that the Iraqi judiciary has confronted this movement by criminalizing these movements in many legal texts, to which the Iraqi Penal Code No. 111 of 1969 referred in Article (372,408), although there is no specific provision to criminalize the movement itself.
