University of Basra organizes a seminar on the poem How to Learn the Struggle
The Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basra organized a seminar entitled "Reading the poem How to Learn the Struggle in Five Days" by poet Ahmed Matar.
The seminar, presented by teacher Qasim Muhammad Salman, dealt with a critical reading of the poem's intellectual and artistic dimensions, the struggle discourse inherent in the structure of the text, and the symbolic connotations that expressed a protest consciousness towards the contemporary Arab reality.
The seminar touched on the poetic formation of the poem, and the ways of employing language and image in building a poetic position that reflects the cultural and social conflict.
