A master's thesis at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Basra examined the reference of personal experience in the formation of Ibn Zaydun's poetry.
The thesis, submitted by student Haider Yahya Majbal, aims to define the process of influence and impact between the poet and his external environment in the composition of his poems, as well as some of the results that were based on the self's understanding of the experience itself and how it dealt with its stages, which were accompanied by suffering, causing it to break down at times and rebuild itself at others, experiences rich in events and vicissitudes.
The thesis included three chapters in which the researcher discussed the experience of love, the experience of imprisonment, and the experience of power.
