Basra University organizes practical training workshop
The Natural History Museum at the University of Basra organized a practical training workshop
The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the scientific steps involved in taxidermy, starting with the removal of internal organs, treatment of the body, design of molds, fixation of limbs, and ending with the assembly of the final specimens and necessary corrections.
The workshop, presented by a number of museum lecturers, covered the steps involved in taxidermy in museums. It was characterized by audience interaction and fruitful discussions that contributed to enhancing participants' understanding of the importance of taxidermy in preserving animal specimens and supporting the museum's educational and research activities.
